What Influences the Result

Black, navy blue and red inks generally respond most readily. Other colours, including green, light blue, yellow and white, may respond poorly or not at all. Tattoo age, size, body location, ink density, previous cover-ups and skin tone all inform suitability and what may be realistic.

Reduction and Cover-Up

Complete removal is not achievable for every tattoo, which is why we describe this as tattoo reduction. Where the goal is lightening an existing tattoo enough for an artist to work over it, that is a different objective from full clearance and is planned accordingly.
