Women's Wellness in Aurora

Women's health in Aurora, from perimenopause to pelvic floor changes, deserves careful attention. At Thrive! MedAesthetics + Wellness, our physician-led team looks at hormone, pelvic floor, bladder and intimate health together, because these changes rarely arrive one at a time. Care starts with a private, complimentary consultation, in Aurora or by virtual visit across Ontario.

SCHEDULE A COMPLIMENTARY CONSULTATION

We combine medical technology with personalized, physician-led care to support women's health at every stage of life.

Bioidentical Hormone Therapy

Bioidentical hormones have the same molecular structure as the hormones your body makes, such as estradiol and progesterone. Hormone therapy is used for menopause symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats and vaginal dryness. Testosterone may also be considered for some women after a full assessment, for example when low libido is a concern; no testosterone product is currently approved by Health Canada for use in women. Care starts with testing and a physician-led assessment, and your physician reviews the benefits and risks with you.

B-Pulse Electromagnetic Chair

For women with bladder leaks or pelvic floor weakness, the B-Pulse chair uses a pulsed electromagnetic field to produce about 13,000 pelvic floor muscle contractions in a session of about 30 minutes, while you sit fully clothed.

Vaginal CO2 Laser Resurfacing

Vaginal CO2 laser resurfacing uses a fractional CO2 laser to make a pattern of tiny, controlled wounds in the vaginal tissue, leaving the tissue around each one intact. As these tiny wounds heal, the body's repair process promotes turnover of the tissue. This is an off-label use of the laser, and your physician explains what that means at your consultation. Results vary.

PRP for Women's Intimate Health

PRP for women's intimate health uses platelet-rich plasma prepared from a small sample of your own blood. This is an off-label use of PRP. Research in this area is still early, and your physician explains what is and isn't known before you decide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Women's Wellness at Thrive! include?

Women's Wellness brings together care for hormone, pelvic and intimate health. Depending on your assessment, options may include bioidentical hormone therapy, B-Pulse pelvic floor sessions, vaginal CO2 laser resurfacing and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Every plan starts with a private consultation with our physician-led team. We encourage you to keep your family doctor or nurse practitioner, and we can share results with them.

How does the B-Pulse chair work?

The B-Pulse chair uses a pulsed electromagnetic field to produce about 13,000 pelvic floor muscle contractions in a session of about 30 minutes, while you sit fully clothed. Think of it as a workout for your pelvic floor muscles. Our physician-led team assesses whether it suits you, and results vary.

What is bioidentical hormone therapy?

Bioidentical hormones have the same molecular structure as the hormones your body makes, such as estradiol and progesterone. They are used to treat menopause symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats. Like every form of hormone therapy, they carry benefits and risks that depend on you, and your physician reviews these with you.

What is vaginal CO2 laser resurfacing?

A fractional CO2 laser makes a pattern of tiny, controlled wounds in the vaginal tissue, leaving the tissue around each one intact. As these heal, the body's repair process promotes healing and turnover of the tissue. This is an off-label use of the laser. Whether it suits you, what to expect afterward and the possible risks are reviewed at a private consultation. Results vary.

What is PRP for intimate health?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is prepared from a small sample of your own blood, which is spun to concentrate the platelets, then injected into the treatment area. This is an off-label use of PRP. Your physician explains what the evidence does and does not show, the possible risks and whether it suits your goals.
